Throwing Axes and Throwing Knives

News in our store: Throwing Axes and Throwing Knives

The tradition of ax throwing goes back to the woodcutters in the USA and Canada in the 19th century, who in their free time threw the axes at a goal that consisted of the end of a tree trunk.

Today, modern chainsaws have largely replaced the axes in the forest, but throwing axes has remained as a leisure sport, especially in the Scandinavian countries.

Knife throwing is not limited to circus or vaudeville, but is established as a competition sport. In the case of a sporty knife throwing, the thrower is at a given distance to the target and tries to hit the bull´s eye.

For friends of these sports, we have added throwing axes and throwing knives to our assortment. The offered articles come from different manufacturers who forge high-quality knives and axes made of carbon steel or stainless steel.

The throwing axes and throwing knives have very good throwing characteristics and are also suitable for longer distances.

News from Naturfoam

There are new targets in our 3D range of products – with both 3D targets made by Naturfoam “Tasmanian Wolf” and “Sika Deer”, we offer two beautiful targets for your course!

Tasmanian Wolf or Bagtiger originally lived in the open woodlands and grasslands of the Australian continent and is considered as the biggest carnivorous prey animal in Australia. In the Australian mainland and New Guinea, this animal was presumably ousted by Dingo, in Tasmania the Tasmanian Wolf could survive into the 20th century, presumably there were no Dingos. However, he was mistakenly considered as a “sheep killer”, the population who living in the wild was also exterminated.

The last exemplar of its kind died in a zoo in 1936, so it is from extinct species.

Characteristic are the horizontal stripes on the back, which have given him the name Bagtiger, and the white marking in the face.

Naturfoam has reproduced the Tasmanian Wolf in detail with the help of historical pictures and created an unusual and high-quality 3D target.

Sika-deer is native to East Asia, but today is native to Europe and in many parts of the world. In Germany, he was kept as a park deer since 1893, today he is present in wild living populations in different regions of the country. Sika-deer is an attractive hunting game in regions in which the red deer does not thrive.

From the size you can compare the Sika-deer with the European fallow deer. Its summer dress is reddish-brown with white spots, arranged in longitudinal, in winter it can be recognized by its thick mane neck.
